We've had a long and hard winter this year. It's been quite a few years since we had such heavy snowfall. Melissa and Robert's shoot was right in the middle of snowstorm in West Japan and I was worried that we wouldn't be able to make it to Shirakawago for the shoot. Normally, it would only take me one hour to get to Kanazawa, but the snow condition this year was so unpredictable that I was actually worried I wouldn't be able to get into Kanazawa for their shoot. I arrived into Kanazawa the night before just to sure there wouldn't be any delays for their shoot!
Thankfully, the weather did cleared up a little. There were still occasions where there were whiteouts on the roads and at times, it snowed so hard, that we couldn't even see their faces in the photos! However, thanks to the snowfall, Shirakawago was blanked in beautiful white snow. :)
Winter shoots are often unpredictable, but Melissa and Robert were totally flexible with their plans and took things as they came. Thank you so much guys!
