Jolene and Zhiwei were traveling in Japan with their friends and would be passing through Toyama to get on the beautiful Kurobe Alpine Route during their trip. Hence they decided to have their prewedding in Toyama. They were my first pair of overseas couple in Toyama and I was thrilled to introduce Toyama to them. Kyoto and Tokyo are often popular destinations for preweddings, but central Japan is definitely not lacking in beauty and locations for prewedding sessions.
Their session started in a lake park with a unique Japanese tori gate bridge. We came in time when nature was at the beginning of changing its coat. The mixture of green, brown and yellow hues were so beautiful calming. And among all this beauty, Zhiwei decided to drop down to his knees to propose to Jolene. It was extremely moving and a great honor to be part of this precious moment.
We later moved to Shirakawago, a beautiful and rustic village in Gifu prefecture. The thatched roof houses offered a unique view of rustic Japan and we were blessed by such fine weather and beautiful light. But most importantly, Jolene & Zhiwei were the perfect couple to be photographed- relaxed, glowing and ever so sweet to each other.
Our final location was on a small mountain back in Toyama. The sunset orange and pink flower fields created such a beautiful palette in the images. Not only that, we had the whole place to ourselves, yes, an entire hill of flower fields to ourselves.
I felt so blessed to be able to make images for Jolene & Zhiwei. Their friends who joined us for the photo session were so patient in helping out during the session and driving to the different locations. I really couldn't ask for anything more. :)
Thank you, Jolene, Zhiwei & friends!
